Lab Results: 100% Chuncho Cacao
We sent samples to third-party labs in Cusco and Lima. Nobody required us to. We did it because “trust us, it is clean” is not an answer.
What came back
Reports LLP-5451-2025 and DT-00001-01-2026, on a sealed 400 g pack of 100% Chuncho cacao paste.
Cacao is a plant, and plants take up what's in their soil. Cadmium is the one people ask about, and the honest answer is that it's present in cacao generally — the question was never whether it's there, it's how much.
So here are our numbers, from our most recent test:
- Cadmium — 0.17 mg/kg
- Lead — below the detection limit
- Salmonella — absent
- Moisture — 1.14%
- Cacao butter — 47.7%
Tested in Cusco and Lima, Peru. Never alkalized.
